Stuttgart – Daimler has been offering its highly-efficient BlueTec diesel technology for commercial vehicles since early 2005 in Europe- and with great success. Since then, around 160,000 BlueTec commercial vehicles have taken to the streets, including Mercedes-Benz heavy trucks and Vario vans, as well as Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses. Over 90 percent of these vehicles already fulfill the Euro 5 emissions standard not due for introduction into Europe until autumn 2009.

Stuttgart – The Mercedes-Benz Cars division delivered 90,400 vehicles to customers all over the world in January 2008 (January 2007: 77,700). Sales of the Mercedes-Benz, AMG, Maybach, and smart brands thus rose by 16 percent to set a new record.
